Solution
Multi-branch phone system for multiple offices
Organisations with several offices often end up with a separate phone system in each one. Every branch has its own numbers, its own extension list and its own vendor. Calling a colleague in another city means dialling an outside line, customers are told to ring a different number, and nobody at head office can see whether a branch is answering its phones.
CorePBX is an IP PBX that can be cloud-hosted or on-premise. It brings branches onto one system with a common extension plan, so offices call each other by extension. SIP Trunking carries outside calls, and the IVR, queues and hunt groups route them to whichever branch should answer.
One extension plan across every office
Extension Management keeps all branches in a single directory. Staff reach a colleague in another office by dialling an extension, and an administrator can add a new branch or move a person between offices from one console. Conference Bridges give cross-branch teams a shared room for regular calls.
Routing calls between branches
The IVR Designer can offer callers a choice of branch or department from one published number. Hunt Groups can include phones in more than one office, and Call Queues and ACD pass a waiting caller to the next free person, so a busy branch can be backed up by another.
Central lines and central monitoring
SIP Trunking lets the organisation manage its outside lines as a shared resource instead of branch by branch. SNMP Monitoring reports the health of the phone system to the network monitoring tools your IT team already uses, so a fault at a distant branch is visible from head office.
FAQ
Common questions
How do you connect branch offices on one phone system?
Each branch is given extensions on the same IP PBX instead of running its own. With CorePBX the extensions, routing rules and SIP trunks are managed centrally, and branches reach each other by extension.
Can one number serve all our offices?
Yes. An IVR menu built in the IVR Designer can direct callers to the right branch or department, and each branch can also keep its own number if you prefer.
Can calls overflow from a busy branch to another office?
Hunt Groups and Call Queues can include staff from more than one location, so a call that is not picked up in one branch can be offered to people in another.
Should a multi-branch phone system be cloud or on-premise?
CorePBX supports both. The right choice depends on your network links between branches and on who will maintain the system, which we review with you before recommending either.
